PVC pipe extruders are all core production equipment. When the equipment is a used one, its daily maintenance is not just a routine task, but a crucial lifeline for ensuring stable production, extending equipment service life, and guaranteeing product quality.

1. Pre-Startup Inspection
(1) Check the oil level at each lubrication point.
(2)Inspect whether fasteners (bolts) are loose.
(3)Verify if the cooling water circuit is unobstructed.
(4)Clean the die lip: gently remove precipitates with a copper spatula or copper brush.
2. In-Operation Monitoring
(1)Listen to sounds: Pay attention to any abnormal vibration or noise from the extruder and gearbox.
(2)Smell odors: Be alert to the pungent odor generated by the overheating decomposition of PVC.
(3)Monitor current: Closely observe the main motor current. An abnormal increase in current may indicate poor plasticization of materials in the barrel or a risk of material blockage.
(4)Check temperature: Confirm that the temperature control of each temperature zone is stable without significant fluctuations.
3. Post-Shutdown Operations
(1) Emergency shutdown:
In case of power failure or malfunction, immediately cut off the heating power supply, manually turn the handwheel (if possible),and
clean the barrel and screw with PE or cleaning material to prevent PVC from carbonizin and solidifyinginside.
(2) Normal shutdown:
①Stop feeding and empty the PVC in the extruder.
②Add PE material or special shutdown cleaning material to completely replace the residual PVC in the barrel and screw.
③It is strictly forbidden to shut down and keep warm directly when the barrel is full of PVC! This is the most common cause of
screw and barrel seizure and scrapping.
④Turn off the heating power supply, shut down the cooling water, and clean the entire production line. Institutionalizing and habitualizing the above daily maintenance procedures can not only significantly reduce losses caused by unexpected shutdowns, but
also make this used PVC pipe extruder the most reliable partner in your production line, continuously delivering high-quality products
and substantial returns.
